Dear friends! Dear employees of the St. Petersburg metro, October railway, residents of St. Petersburg, veterans!
On behalf of the employees of "Thermotron-Plant" I congratulate you on the 75th anniversary of the lifting of the siege of Leningrad.
The siege of Leningrad is one of the most terrible pages of our history and at the same time — a symbol of unprecedented courage and fortitude of the inhabitants of the city on the Neva. 900 long days and nights, overcoming hunger and cold, Leningrad defended his hometown, and he continued to live, work, fight.
The war made its adjustments to the plans for the construction of the metro in the Northern capital, the first stations of which were to be opened in 1942. But passed the guns and production had to drown. Metrostroevtsy in these years engaged in the construction of deadlocks, warehouses, railway lines and port facilities in the besieged Leningrad. And Ivan Georgievich Zubkov, who was supposed to lead the construction of the metro, headed another important construction site — the Shlisselburg route — the railway of life in the besieged city.
In the frosty winter of 1943, about five thousand people in record time in inhuman conditions laid a 33-kilometer railway line. Work has been going under incessant enemy fire, in a swampy terrain. But the effort paid off, and on February 7 in Leningrad met the first train with food. Since then, a specially created 48-locomotive convoy was regularly taken to the city exhausted the long-awaited goods.
On January 27, 1944, the heroic defense of Leningrad was completed with the complete lifting of the blockade.
The feat and Victory of the defenders of Leningrad will forever remain in people's memory.
Low bow to front-line soldiers and home front workers, blockade, widows, children of war! May peace and prosperity always be in your homes. Please accept my most sincere and warmest congratulations. We wish you good health, happiness, warmth and long life!Sincerely yours, General Director of LLC "Termotron-Яфмщв" G. S. Abushenko
