An important date in the domestic metro construction

4 Февраля 2020 85 years ago, on February 4, 1935, the first test train passed in the Moscow metro along the entire first line from Sokolniki station to Park Kultury station.

Moscow was the first city in the USSR to open a metro line in 1935. Preparatory work for the construction of the subway began in the spring of 1932, and by the autumn of 1934, the construction of the first stage from the Sokolniki station to the Park Kultury station was completed.

On February 4, 1935, the first train, also consisting of two cars: a motor and a trailer, passed along the entire route. The first passengers of the Moscow metro were delegates of the VII all-Union Congress of Soviets. On February 19, regular training traffic started on the highway. During the run-in period, thousands of Muscovites, who were leading manufacturers, had the opportunity to travel along the first line of the world's best metro.

And the metro officially started operating on may 15 of the same year. So in three months we will celebrate the 85th anniversary of the Moscow metro!
