Two new stations – Narodnoye Opolchenie and Mnevniki-were opened on the Bolshaya Koltsevaya Line (BKL) of the Moscow Metro on April 1. The ceremony was attended by the mayor of the city Sergey Sobyanin.
The opened stations became the 240th and 241st metro stations (excluding the Moscow Central Ring). "People's Militia" is located along Marshal Zhukov Avenue, near the intersection with Demyan Bedny Street. It is planned to organize an interchange at the station for the new Rublevo-Arkhangelsk metro line, its construction may begin this year. Mnevniki station is located in the northern part of the Mnevnikovskaya floodplain.
The opening of the stations will reduce the traffic interval during rush hour on the Savelovskaya – Khoroshevskaya section by 15 seconds, from 2.45 to 2.30, which will create new 2.6 thousand passenger seats.
"For more than 30 years, Termotron has been supplying its equipment to the Moscow Metro facilities under construction —" says Anton Abushenko, the company's executive director. — And the two new stations were no exception. Our electric switch drives, KAS-M rotary devices, PYA-I track boxes and metal structures for the installation of SCB equipment are installed there."
