Samara tram is 105 years old
25 Февраля 2020
Dear employees of the Tram and trolleybus Department, residents and guests of Samara!
I congratulate you on the 105th anniversary of the Samara tram!
Tram traffic in Samara was opened in 1915. The first route connected the depot on Polevoy street and Alekseyevskaya square (now Revolution square). The route network, designed by engineer Pavel Sutkevich, included five routes, including a dacha route to Postnikov ravine. By the end of 1915, about thirty cars were working for the benefit of the city's residents.
Samara tram was the first built exclusively by Russian specialists without any participation of foreigners and using only domestic components: cars, contact network, rails, sleepers, electrical and mechanical equipment. Thanks to the efforts of the engineers of "Thermotron-Plant" LLC, this glorious tradition can be continued — the first domestic electric drive for tram transfers was designed, manufactured and tested in our company. I am sure that this product will be in demand both for the reconstruction of the existing infrastructure and for new construction.
Let the tram economy in your city only get stronger, and the people who provide the movement of the most environmentally friendly transport, live in prosperity and storm the heights of professional skill.Sincerely, General Director of LLC "Termotron-Zavod" G. S. Abushenko
